Mace 10-2 + Variations

The mace 10-2 is likely the most well-known of all mace swings. A hard drop of the “unweighted” elbow once the mace floats past parallel in the back pendulum position will help stop the mace at the 10 – and- 2 positions. Once the momentary stop has been created, the mace must be pushed “up” in order to encourage its momentum into the next swing.

Also shown: A variation we have added in which the foot and torso on the “weighted” side pivot, creating a leg-hip-arm-last sequence; Much like many other lifts, and also similar to the pivot needed to initiate a shoulder throw or similar.
