The mace serves as an excellent “accountability booster” in the Good Morning position (hinge).
The handle should stay attached to your head, upper back, and lower back, and as much of your thoracic spine as mobility allows. If in moving into the hinge position, any of the points of contact disconnect, you then know right where to focus and brace harder in the heavier loaded versions of this pattern/ position!
It is also excellent in locating the organized end-range of the hinge at the bottom; If all positional boxes are checked, the handle points are in-contact, and the heels are down, assess how low you can go!
More back + down- provided it is sound- means more power!
