Lateral clumsiness, impatience, and/ or non-confidence in the back pendulum position are the most common limiters we see in development and performance of safe, adult-weight mace 360’s.
All totally avoidable, and infinitely correctable.
Tips/ details:
Root feet into the floor as if performing a press.
Climb safely underneath the mace, keeping hands next to each other and at the very end of the handle.
Tuck your hips, begin turning your arms, and then as momentum increases, use arms less and less.
Once mace is consistently reaching the “float point” (above-parallel with the ground), then drop the opposite elbow and guide mace over into forward/ “holster” position.
Maintain sound position, allow weight to swing freely without fighting it, and repeat liberally.
